What to Wear

Dress up. The occasion calls for it!

This is a formal evening celebrating books, stories, and imagination.

Boundless is a ball for those who love storytelling, so you’re warmly invited to come as yourself, or draw inspiration from a literary world or character you love.

Formal attire
A suit, a gown, cocktail attire, or that “I never get to wear this” outfit. The piece in your wardrobe that’s been waiting for the right occasion.

Story-inspired
If you’d like to draw inspiration from a favourite book, character, or fictional world, we invite you to explore it through a formal interpretation.

Think about how that character or world might be expressed through evening wear. What would they wear if the occasion called for elegance, ceremony, and celebration?

The interpretation is yours. The only brief: go all out with it!

Note: Accessories that add to your look are very welcome. We just ask that they remain considerate of the space and enjoyable for all guests.
For safety reasons, no real weapons are permitted. Prop weapons may be allowed at the discretion of event staff and security.

Meet Your Host

We’re very pleased to welcome Coffs Harbour’s own
Nick Hardcastle as host of the 2026 Boundless Book Ball.

Nick grew up in Coffs Harbour and many in the community will remember him from his teenage years on CHYFM.

From those early days in local radio, he’s gone on to build an impressive career across Australia and internationally in television, theatre and live events, including appearances on Saturday Disney, Creature Features and Home and Away, as well as hosting major events around the world as a presenter and MC.

We’re incredibly grateful to Nick for generously giving his time to host this year’s event. It feels especially fitting for an evening shaped by our community, for our community.

Nick’s journey is a wonderful reminder that big stories can start in small places.

A night that gives back to the region.

Coffs Harbour Support Services (CHSS) is a local not‑for‑profit that has been working alongside individuals and families across the Mid North Coast for over 30 years - supporting people to live richer and more connected lives.

All proceeds from Boundless go directly back into CHSS services and facilities, creating real impact for local people. This is fundraising that stays close to home and makes a genuine difference within our community.

“We wanted to create something this community could be genuinely proud of - a night that’s thoughtful, fun,
and worth showing up for.” - Joel Aitken, CEO of CHSS

Boundless is the beginning of something we hope will grow into a much-loved annual event for the Mid North Coast - and this first night is where that story begins.
